Starbase Louisiana is the name SpaceX announced for a planned launch complex in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. The precise site we name is Freshwater City, near Pecan Island, on about 125,000 acres of coastal marsh. It is a company announcement, not a finished spaceport you can tour.
Where is it — Freshwater City or Pecan Island?
Both, used correctly. Freshwater City is the precise site. Pecan Island is the nearby community that news stories and search queries use. We name both. We never replace Freshwater City with Pecan Island.
What parish is Starbase Louisiana in?
Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, on the Gulf coast. Parish seat is Abbeville, well inland of the marsh.
How many acres?
About 125,000 acres of coastal marsh. That is the figure we use. We do not say 130,000.

Can I visit? Where do I watch from?
Details are still developing. There is no public viewing program we can point to, and we will not invent pull-offs, gates, or access roads. Stay off private land and out of the marsh unless you have a lawful reason to be there.
Why does rocketgumbo.com exist?
Because Vermilion Parish got a new name on the map, and we wanted a local, independent shop for Starbase Louisiana merchandise that uses the right geography. Freshwater City near Pecan Island. About 125,000 acres. No fake hype, no official badge.
